MelFest- A Breast Cancer Benefit for Melanie from the band Sirsy will be taking place this weekend.

MelFest takes place this Sunday, Aug. 12 at Junior's Lounge off Salt Point Turnpike in Poughkeepsie from 2-7pm. The event will feature many great band's with proceeds going to help out Melanie from Sirsy who has been battling breast cancer. Many talented artists will be performing including Adam Ezra, Jason Gisser, Ghost River Gypsy, Snaphammer and Pluto's Not A Planet. The indoor/outdoor event will have food and drink available along with raffles including a 50/50. Suggested donation of $10-$20 will be accepted at the door.

Sirsy is a talented rock/soul duo from the Saratoga Springs area featuring singer/drummer Melanie and guitar, bassist and keyboardist Rich. The band was described by The Boston Globe as "Little Band. Big Sound." The Times Union said, "Their clever, smart songs have more hooks than a tacklebox." I've seen Sirsy many times before and they always rock the house.
