Though the song was originally released in 1995 on the band's American debut 'Sixteen Stone', "Machinehead" from Bush has been named the Ultimate Workout Song Of The Year for 2013 by Gold's Gym.

The gym franchise ran a "March Music Madness Battle of the Bands" to decide what was the No. 1 song according to their members. Professional BMX biker Mike Spinner nominated the song and for that he is receiving $5,000 donation to the charity of his choice, Coastal Boxer Rescue of Florida. Which is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to rescuing abused, abandoned and neglected boxer dogs.

Over 40,000 votes were cast and among the list of the top songs were in the Final Four were:

GrandMastaz’s version of the Sir Mix-a-Lot’s "Baby Got Back"

"Machinehead" was the only rock song in the Final Four and it won! That definitely says something when it comes to workout music and the power of rock!
