Its no secret, New York is in the middle of a burn ban at this current time. We will be for a little while longer too. Here is when you can burn without repercussion.

Every spring New York puts a burn ban into effect. This year I suppose I never really thought about it seeing as we are two days from May and 40 degrees. Also because April has been just flat out chilly and wet. Not exactly yard work or bonfire weather.

There is a very good reason that year in and year out this ban happens. Brush fires are very prevalent at this time of the year, just imagine you have raked up leaves and want to burn them, one flaming leave hits some dry brush. All of the sudden the fire department is at your house.
