There's no need to fear the loud booming noise you may hear in downtown Albany on Thursday. It's intentional.

The 11-story Wellington Annex is scheduled to be imploded Thursday so that the City of Albany can move forward with Columbia Development's plans to build a downtown convention center, according to the Times Union.

Maryland-based demolition company Controlled Demolition Inc. is planning the explosion to happen some time after morning rush hour, which means you probably will not see the effects on your way to work. Several parking restrictions will be in effect in the area until about 1 p.m. on Thursday.

We know the two main questions you're wondering: when is this happening and can you watch? The answer to both has not yet been confirmed so stay tuned.
