It's that time again.  Time for all of the talks regarding  Brett Favre  comming out of retirment for a fourth time.  There is a rumor out there that the 41 year old quarterback may be signed to back up another QB that tends to make headlines.

Rumor has it that Favre may be signed to back up the Eagle's Michael Vick, according to this tweet from 610 WIP Sports Radio's  Howard Eskin.  Despite Farves accolades and accomplishments, he has domited NFL off-seasons by retiring from the Packers, Jets and Vikings.  It seems every summer, the "I want to play again" ordeal consumes headlines.  This year, with the league on a lock out, the Favre saga has been quiet.  Until now.

Due to lock out rules, the Eagles are not allowed to talk to free agents or draft picks.  With the pending move of former starting QB, Kevin Kolb, the Eagles are in a tough spot.  It's on almost everyone's mind that the Eagles will not be keeping both Kolb and Vick - both QB's wish to be starters.  With the Eagles having Vick start, Kolb appears to be on his way out, but the Eagles cannot trade Kolb until the lock out ends.  This is where Favre comes in - there are no rules about talking with retired players.

Favre does have ties to the Eagles coaching staff.  Head coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg were both on the Packers coaching staff when Favre won the Super Bowl with the Pack.  What does Michael Vick think of all of this?  Vick who made headlines of his own by serving 21 months of prison time for dog fighting seems to have turned his act around in Philly.  Last year, Vick was named the NFC's starting QB in the Pro Bowl.  When asked, Vick states "I would be honored to have Brett Favre as a backup. That will be amazing Learning how to toy with defenses the way he did his whole career." according to yahoo.com's Doug Farrar.

I wonder if our very own Eagles fan, BJ, will be buying an Eagles number 4 jersey any time soon?  What do you think? Will Favre be in  Philly?
