As a kid, nothing beat opening a Christmas present that was a new gaming system. I remember the fond memories of opening my original Sega from my Mom one year - good times. So I have to figure it was quite the shock for one family when the refurbished Nintendo 3DS they bought for their son had porn on it.

The 5 year-old boy find nine "pornographic" images on the device including people in bed engaged in sexual acts. Things would have gone unnoticed by the family but the boy asked his older brother to delete the images.

The older brother, Bryton, told local Denver TV station KUSA "He said that he didn't take these pictures, so I went over to these pictures and I [saw] two people in a bed. I told my dad and I said, 'Dad, this has porn on it', and he got up and went right to the phone."

The 3DS was bought from a Gamestop and the father, Mark Giles, called the store to complain. The company has replaced the refurbished 3DS with a brand new one and several games to make up for the incident. The family accepted the apology and replacement system. However, Mark says the boy is still "traumatized" being that he is only 5 and he won't be forgetting about it anytime soon.

Gamestop released a statement saying "GameStop is currently researching this situation. We have a rigorous quality control process in place to ensure that existing content is removed from all devices before they are re-sold. Out of millions of transactions each year, ones like this happen very rarely. Our number one priority is to make this right for our customer."
