Boil Water Advisory Issued for Schenectady County

If you live in the area of Schenectady County, the county itself is issuing a boil water order. Here is why.

A water main break has occurred this morning in Rotterdam, it seems the whole county will experience the effects of it. The break happened on Route 7 this morning just east of Altamont Avenue. Beyond only the boil water order issued, you also will experience delays in traffic around the area too. Route 7 is closed between Altamont and Deforest.

So if you have woken up this morning and wondered "Why is the water pressure so low?" or "Why do I not have water?" this is the exact reason.

The boil advisory is in effect until further notice according to the Times Union.

At the moment also, officials in charge of fixing the broken portion of the water main have not been able to set a timetable for when the main will be fixed and water restored completely.
