The moment that everyone has been waiting for finally arrived.  Black Sabbath took to their website to make a big announcement only fitting for National Metal Day.

Black Sabbath has been teasing us with information about a potential reunion for months now.  First Ozzy would confirm, then Tony would deny it.  Well I am here to tell you it is official!  The original Black Sabbath lineup is getting back together for not on a full fledged tour, but also a brand new studio album produced by Rick Rubin.  As a HUGE Sabbath fan, I have been waiting for this moment for a long time.

Without Black Sabbath there would be no heavy metal, thus no national metal day.  It's only right that they waited for a "holiday" such as this to let all of us loyal fans know that we haven't heard the last from them.  Now the tour won't start until after they headline the Download Festival in June 2012, but the will be doing a world wide tour.  I can only imagine what they will bring to the table.
