This weekend is the annual Classic Weekend in Cooperstown, NY.  I am heading back there Friday morning for a chance to chat with some hall of famers, and get another look at some of baseballs most hallowed ground.

Cooperstown continues to be one of my favorite places to visit in Upstate, NY.  Tomorrow I am fortunate enough to head out back there for Classic Weekend.  It's going to be a really cool trip this time too.  Instead of me just walking around the Hall of Fame like I usually do, this time I will be going on an exclusive tour of the place and get to sit down a few hall of famers.

This is a opportunity of a lifetime.  I have said before that we get to do some cool things in radio, well folks, this is one of them.  There are a few legends that will be there for the weekend as a whole, but I don't know who I will yet be joined by.  I know that Goose Gossage, Andre Dawson, Jim Rice, Ozzie Smith, Tony Perez, Phil Niekro and Dick Williams will all be taking part in the weekend so some could be stopping by for a quick interview.

As a life time Yankee fan I would be honored to sit down with Goose Gossage and talk to the man who pioneered the closer role in baseball.  It would be cool to ask him what he thinks about today's closers since the role has kind of changed to a one inning man.  I'm sure he has some great things to say about Mariano Rivera and today's game being bit different than when he played.

At the same time I would love to sit down with Jim Rice and talk about the Yankee Red Sox rivalry since he is one of the greatest players in Bostons history.  Ozzie Smith would be a fun interview.  I have always heard great things about this guy and how nice he is.  Plus it would be cool if he could still do the back flips.

All in all, I am really looking forward to this trip.  Classic Weekend has been going on for a long time now and it's a fathers day tradition.  On Sunday you'll be able to catch all these hall of famers and some of baseballs greatest on the field at Double Day during the Hall of Fame game.  Joining the hall of famers will be players like Dave Henderson, Dale Murphy and Reggie Sanders.  Before that on Saturday will be Classic fest which is held on Double Day field as well.  It will have all kinds of local businesses and vendors and a chance to get some cool baseball memorabilia.

Make sure to check back here for all the great interviews I'll be sharing starting tomorrow morning.  Have a great Fathers Day weekend, and hopefully I'll see you at the Hall of Fame!
