Bill Gates is a wealthy genius, responsible for one of the biggest names in the world- Microsoft. He has made a huge success out of himself and will always go down in history for his contributions, but maybe not all of them. He is now working on a reinvented toilet that will improve the lives of millions and actually help the environment. Watch the pitch video below.

Bill and his wife Melinda (who founded the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation) hosted a two-day event in Seattle called the "Reinvent the Toilet Fair," which included researchers from all over the world. Bill's basic idea is to give people healthier options and turn crap (literally) into useful things, such as fertilizer and even fresh water. I don't know about you but I am skeptical about waste being turned into something drinkable.

Bill's reasoning for this is stated in the article:

4 out of 10 people don’t have a safe way to poop - that’s 2.6 billion!Gates took on the mission of building a better toilet a year ago. As he recently told the Times of India, 1.5 million children die each year due to severe diarrhea caused by poor sanitation because they lack the kind of toilets that affluent countries take for granted.

Finding a new toilet design that is as good as the flush toilet should be possible. It does not exist now, Gates said. That's why we have been putting in money asking people to design a new toilet.
