Best Places to go Sleigh Riding in the Capital Region?

It's snowing! because it's December, that is what it does in the North East or at least that is what it is supposed to do, when it rains it's depressing because there is nothing worse then a soggy Christmas.

I love it when it snows enough for sleigh riding before Christmas because if it does not then I feel like all of my favorite Christmas movies are lying to me and I get upset and have to cry myself to sleep while singing Jingle Bells.

When I was a kid I did most of my sleigh riding on the hill in back of Forts Ferry Elementary School, it's a decent sized hill and it is not too steep and sometimes, if there is enough snow the kids build a ramp toward the bottom of the hill, going off that ramp used to make my butt hurt, but not too much because I was a fat kid and I had extra padding.

However there is a dark side to this particular sleigh riding spot, if you go into the woods at the top of the hill there is another hill, a hill that the locals call "Suicide Hill" which is more of a steep drop, after a local girl sustained serious injuries going down "Suicide Hill" they tried to ruin the hill by pushing the dirt from the middle of the hill up to the top, but it only made the hill steeper and stupid kids like me still tried riding down it.

And that is where I used to go sleigh riding, on a hill where on one side it's a delightful little slope where people gather and build ramps out of snow and on the other side it's suicide.

I miss the 80's.
