The Brockton Rox, a baseball team in the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball, is attempting to set a Guinness World Record by selling an $80 hot dog at their July 23rd home game.

The two are synonymous with each other  - baseball and hot dogs.  The day even seems fitting, July 23rd is National Hot Dog Day.  However, I'm not sure the Rox from Massachusetts are going to hit a home run by selling an $80 hot dog when even the best seats in the house, the Super Box seats, sell for only $15 a pop.  Don't get me wrong, ol' Monte loves him some hot doggies but these bad boys better be made of gold if I'm going to shell out that many smackers for one! Let's see what's in this dog, shall we?

According to Adam Watson of thepostegame.com, "The foot-long wiener will get the royal treatment. After deep frying, it will be rolled in truffle oil, then coated in porcini dust. The dog is to be topped with white truffle shavings and crème fraiche. If that doesn't gild the lily enough, the frank will be finished with caviar and fresh roe."

Though that sounds damn good, and will probably break the record as being the most expensive hot dog, I'm still not sure that I could dish out three weeks worth of pay for a few franks at the ball park!  How about you?  Would you break out that much green for a foot long?
