Dave Grohl’s Sound City Players Enlist Stevie Nicks, Members of Nirvana + More in Hollywood

Almost four hours. That's how long Dave Grohl and his Sound City Players commandeered the stage at the Palladium in Hollywood for last night (Jan. 31). That's a long time for any act to perform, but this was no average show -- or average band. This was Dave Grohl performing with the likes of Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, members of Rage Against the Machine and more. Grohl did warn the crowd "we're gonna be here for a while," and he didn't disappoint, turning in a once-in-a-lifetime, you-had-to-be-there show.

Sounds like it was a bit of a hacker discovery which beat the band to breaking its own news.

MGMT Releasing New Album in June, Not Trying to Make Music ‘Everyone Understands’

MGMT plan to release the follow-up to 2010's left-of-center 'Congratulations' this June. The group, which consists of Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser, acknowledges that 'Congratulations' was a shock to fans and their label after the breakthrough track 'Kids' from 2007's 'Oracular Spectacular.' It doesn't appear that they will be returning to the 'Kids' formula, though.

Black Keys, Flaming Lips Touring This Spring

The Black Keys and the Flaming Lips will join forces for a brief but all-powerful spate of dates this spring. Both bands are already touring separately, and their paths will converge on April 28 and remain as such through May 3. It's not enough to label it an actual "tour," but that's semantics. All that matters is that they will grace the same stages.
