Area Woman Caught In Scam Claimed To Have Cancer

Most of us have known or even lost someone close to us with cancer. So to see that someone is accused of using cancer as away to swindle people out of their money is heart breaking. A Troy woman is accused of doing just that. 33 year old Lee Kryszeski was arrested on Friday, after fundraiser organizers learned Kryszeski may not have cancer. Troy Police said that 10 people were effected by this scam by donating money and gift cards to Kryszeski. The police waited for one of the gift cards to be cashed in before they made the arrest. It's because of incidents like this people who really have cancer might miss out on much needing funds, because we are weary of being scammed.
