While it's not technically "official" yet it looks like we now know the temporary location for Alive At 5 this summer.

The Alive at 5 summer concert series has been typically held at the Amphitheater at Jennings Landing but with the bicycle and pedestrian upgrade project about to begin at Corning Riverfront Park the summer concert series has had to search for an alternative spot to host the music for 2016.

While again "technically" not official yet, a few residents in buildings near Tricentennial Park have begun receiving notices about street closures for the concert series. The city of Albany has scheduled a press conference for next week to address the new venue and hopefully fill us in on who will be performing this summer! I'll be sure to keep you informed as soon as those announcements are made.

I mean it makes sense that the city would hold the concert series at Tricentennial Park, according to All Over Albany and a flyer that they obtained from one of the previously mentioned residents stated:

The series was successfully held in this location for more than a decade before the construction of the Jennings Landing amphitheater, and the layout allows for minimal disruption to traffic and businesses. It is a location that has been tested for this purpose and is well-known to the public. Bringing the series temporarily to Broadway will continue the positive cultural and economic force of Alive at Five on downtown Albany, bringing thousands of Capital Region residents to the area for performances by world- renowned musical artists of all genres.

What do you think? Are you bummed about the location change? I mean it's only temporary. Personally I've never been to either venue so I'm just stoked to have some free out door live music to enjoy!
