We’ve got a fresh Loudwire Podcast coming your way soon featuring Alice in Chains vocalist and Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman, who are both members of the new group Giraffe Tongue Orchestra. In this Podcast Preview, DuVall talks about Axl Rose rising to the challenge of singing for AC/DC and how he relates when it comes to shutting up naysayers.

We spoke with DuVall and Weinman about a bunch of topics for Episode Three of the Loudwire Podcast. Along with Giraffe Tongue Orchestra’s debut album, Broken Lines, and a compelling ‘Rocker vs. Writer’ debate revolving around the term “supergroup,” we got to speak with DuVall about Alice in Chains opening for Guns N’ Roses on the band’s mind-blowing reunion tour.

After speaking on how incredible opening for GN’R was, we asked William about Axl Rose’s new role as AC/DC’s touring singer. His perspective is very intriguing, as he had the daunting task of replacing Layne Staley in Alice in Chains.

“Most of them had to eat their words,” DuVall said of those who doubted Axl’s ability to perform with AC/DC. “I was happy to see that a lot of the people were willing to say in public, ‘I was wrong.’ [Axl] and I were joking about it. I was like, ‘It was really cool to see you shut all these people up.’ I know a tiny bit about that.”

DuVall continued, “From my own personal experience, it’s very much a similar thing. You can say what you want, man, but I’m coming at you, period. There’s going to be no stopping me.”

Check out our Podcast Preview above and get ready for Episode Three of the Loudwire Podcast coming Sept. 8 via YouTube and iTunes! Giraffe Tongue Orchestra’s Broken Lines will hit stores Sept. 23, so click here to pre-order the album.
