Alice in Chains made their triumphant return last week (May 28) with the release of their latest offering ‘The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here.’ The new disc marks the follow up to 2009’s ‘Black Gives Way to Blue,’ and their second release since reuniting in 2005.

Judging by first impressions, Alice in Chains has a hit on their hands. ‘The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here’ entered the Billboard Top 200 chart in the No. 2 position and managed to snag the No. 1 spot on the iTunes Rock Album chart. The album sold 62,00 copies in the U.S. during its first week of sales.

Alice in Chains first introduced fans to the new disc with the single ‘Hollow,’ followed up by the latest single ‘Stone.’ Garnering 4.5 out of 5 stars, ‘The Devil Puts Dinosaurs Here’ was described in our recent review as harnessing “sludgy guitars, haunting melodies, dark lyrics” while proving the band “can still put a fresh spin on their sound.”

Alice in Chains will spend a good chunk of the summer months as one of the headliners for the 2013 Uproar Fest with Jane's Addiction, Coheed & Cambria and more which is this year's Q-Ruption!
