Albany Police have arrested and charged Shanikqua Thomas with Second-Degree Assault in connection with Monday evening’s incident.
Thomas was originally the passenger in the SUV when she shifted to the driver’s set when she turn the vehicle in reverse, hitting six people. The victims range in ages of 16 to 52.
A 48-year-old victim suffered a fractured hip and leg along with a punctured lung. That victim is still under care at Albany Medical Center along with two others.
This isn’t Thomas’ first run in with the law with charges stemming from breaking windows and stealing several hundred dollars worth of hair care products.
