Some feel good news coming out of the Capital Region today! I don't know if you have noticed or not but I feel like the majority of local news now days is full shootings, fires, DUI's, and tons of other depressing crimes and arrests. It is really refreshing to see a story today coming out about of a bunch of local bar patrons rallying together to hep out someone in need who is, on any other day, serving them.

Apparently a couple of weeks ago one of the barbacks at Wolff's Biergarten came into works searching for a fire extinguisher because on his way in he noticed that his car was smoking when he got back outside the car was pretty much engulfed in flames. According to the Times Union that's when his bar manager decided to jump into action to try help the guy out. He started a fundraising campaign online (without his knowledge) to try to raise some funds to buy his barback a vehicle. Patrons of the bar managed to pull together and donate $3,000 within a weekend.

At that point an employee of Wolff's in Schenectady stepped in to offer up a vehicle he was selling for a relative that had moved. Last night the young man "took possession of his new car, a well-maintained 1999 Buick Century with about 100,000 miles."

Good things are happening every day! I hope we start hearing more stories like this in the news! My hats off to all those contributed!
