The whole world is burning! Call your loved ones and run for your life because everything is on fire… or at least a small controlled portion of the Albany Pine Bush preserve. Driving to the station today I saw an unusual amount of smoke in the air. First I thought one of my Native American friends were trying to ask me if I wanted to come over and watch the movie “Air Born” on VHS later tonight. After further revel, I realized the smoke signals were actually a bunch of gibberish, so I knew “Air Born” was off the table. When I got closer I noticed it was just a simple scheduled burning.

A scheduled burning is when professionals take a section of this wild life preserve and set it a fiery blaze. Why do they burn? My guess is because this is where the Monarch butterfly comes to mate each year and monarch butterflies are kinky as hell. The buzz on the street is they like to do it in burnt carnage. Anyways, I snapped a few shots and here’s what I saw.
