Cans, the plan is cans.

Keeping schools safe is a real thing that people care quite a bit about. Most schools have some sort of law enforcement officer on campus, and entering schools through metal detectors is becoming the norm.

Enter Alabama. I'm not really sure if this particular school has had a bunch of intruders or not, but I do know that the principal is asking students to bring in canned goods. So food drive to somehow fight this? Nope. Leave the canned goods around the school so the intruder takes the meal and leaves? Wrong again.

The principal is asking students to bring in cans for self defense, reports the Times Union. They could be used to stun the intruder, and I quote the letter sent home to parents here, "or even knock him out."

Ah Alabama, the teach kids almost anything is a weapon in school state.
