AFI have just unveiled the official video for their new single ‘I Hope You Suffer,’ the moody maelstrom of a song that serves as the first single from their upcoming disc ‘Burials,’ due out on Oct. 22.

Staying true to the tone of the tune, the video (watch above) is dark in nature, combining the overall sentiment of the anti-love song. Mixing dark and dreary performance shots among a mist of black and gray, brooding frontman Davey Havok laments, “I’ve seen my darkest days / You gave each one to me.”

Havok brings the song to life throughout the video, letting the emotions take over and do the heavy lifting. It's definitely a clip that leaves a mark and the perfect visual statement to accompany the tune.

While the new AFI disc won’t make it’s official debut until October, the band is gearing up to hit the road in September and will likely test out their new material on the road. AFI's 2013 North American tour dates kick off Sept. 12 in Minneapolis and wrap up Nov. 2 in Vancouver, British Columbia. They’ll be playing at the Henry Fonda Theatre in L.A. on the release date of ‘Burials.’ Check out all the dates below:
