According to Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton, there’s a simple explanation for what inspired he and his band mates to talk trash about singer Steven Tyler during last month’s ’60 Minutes’ interview — reporter Lara Logan’s copious cleavage. Yeah, that would work on us too.

Hamilton said that Logan unnerved the band by showing up for the interview in a top that revealed her womanly assets. “She had a very low-cut top on. I’m like, ‘Okay, this is sort of, ‘Get the band nervous with your cleavage and make them say stuff,’” he said. “So I’m like, ‘Ahh, that’s how they do it.’ They show their boobs and get you to talk about stuff. And then, there you are. It works every time.”

Then, Hamilton said, Logan presented the band’s complaints to Tyler in a “brutal” fashion: “They took comments that we made during very deep conversations, actually, that we had during the interview and sort of barraged Steven with them. I thought it was a little brutal the way they did it.”

Still, Hamilton pointed out, everything the band said was true, even if it wasn’t presented in the best way to Tyler.

Maybe she should have broken the news to Tyler topless?
