Staind Singer Aaron Lewis Releases New Solo Song ‘Anywhere But Here’
It might seem unfathomable that a high-profile hard rock vocalist moonlights as a burgeoning country singer, but then again, few hard rock singers possess the breadth and scope of talent of Staind‘s Aaron Lewis. Lewis just released his brand new solo song ‘Anywhere But Here,’ which features twangy guitars and his inimitable, soul stirring and richly emotional vocals.
Lewis will release a full-length solo platter this June through R&J Records, which follows last year’s EP ‘Town Line,’ which spawned the hit ‘Country Boy’ and allowed Lewis to establish inroads in another genre.
Lewis’ acoustic renderings of Staind songs have served him well throughout the years, as he has hit the road on solo treks. So it’s no surprise that his country songs are being equally well received. But rest assured, Staind fans. Lewis isn’t cheating on hard rock with country. He’s merely stretching his creative muscles and doing it well. His powerhouse voice functions flawlessly in two polar opposite genres. You don’t have to be a fan of country music to appreciate and enjoy this moody and blue tune. This is not an acquired taste. It’s just Aaron Lewis doing his thing a little differently. Like Frank Sinatra, he’s doing it his way and the results are nothing short of stunning.
It’s pretty difficult to be unaffected by Lewis’ voice. It moves mountains. That’s the mark of a true artist.
