While most were gearing up for the NCAA Tournament Thursday, others were taking stand and, in some cases, getting arrested in the process.

Hundreds of protesters hunkered down in front of the Governor's office to protest the state's up coming budget. Those in attendance represented several different groups who have concerns over the new budget, many saying it only benefits the wealthy.

The protesters lined the hallways, staircase, and even blocked the door to the Governor's office. One reporter from the Times Union said they, along with others, were trapped in the office.

It was because of this police were called in. 59 protesters were arrested and charged with civil disobedience for not responding to police commands. While being taken away, fellow protesters cheered those being arrested.
