5 Reasons to Go to the Malta Drive-In Theater This Summer

If you didn't already know, we have our own little gem of history hidden right here in the Capital Region.

The Malta Drive-In Theater is one of the only theaters of its kind left, and it's certainly something that you should experience at least once in your life. Here's why:

1. It's affordable

If you're over 12 years old, it's $9, and if you're under, it's only $5. That's pretty reasonable considering you get two, and sometimes three, movies out of that one price. Sometimes, that won't even cover the cost of one movie at a normal movie theater.

2. Awesome concession stand 

They have all of the classics from popcorn to candy, but they also have a big variety of fun foods like fried Oreo's, pickles, and even cappuccinos.

3.You can bring the whole family

They have two screens, and they'll generally have one screen with more child-friendly movies on it, so everyone can tag along.

4. The old-fashioned feel

The very idea of going to a drive-in movie reminds me of the past. But even better than that, they have those old-timey commercials with the dancing hot dogs and sodas telling you how great the food at the concession stand it. It's very cute.

5. It's fun! 

It's not like going to the normal movies, so if you're an avid movie-goer, you can watch the movies either from inside your car, or you can bring some chairs and watch movies under the stars!
