The Capital Region along with New York as a whole is so rich in national history. 3 local places are to be added to the historical register.

It really doesn't matter the exact area. You could look in Troy, Albany or even out in Schoharie and find so many historical locations.

Sometimes I think as a whole, we take these places for granted. Think about how many times during the day you pass one of those blue and yellow signs. Think about how many times you have stopped to read them. I am so guilty of this.

I think we should all take a moment to stop at some of these signs, read them, and appreciate them. Here are the new locations the Capital Region will see added to the historical register.

  • Rensselaer Society of Engineers House in Troy: RPI Campus
  • Schoharie Village Historic District
  • Colonel Peter B Vroman House in Schoharie

These are three of 16 current places to be added to the register statewide. See more from Syracuse.com here.
