The time has come to announce the final and top spot of my 'Top 5 Live' ! Now this #1 spot means that this was THE BEST live show that I saw in 2016.   As I teased earlier on my on-air weekly Rock Girl Update with Tig, it takes a damn good show to top Jane's Addiction in the number two spot.  And as I've said in previous posts- sure a band can be good on stage, but it needs to be an experience to make the top of my list.  It's an experience to remember.  It's something that includes craziness. It includes ridiculous guitar playing.  It includes theatrics.  It includes straight jackets and deranged nurses and fake blood.  It includes a stage lined with mutilated toys. It includes live snakes, Frankenstein, and a guillotine.  It includes tributes to Bowie and Lemmy.  It stars Alice Cooper.

That's right.  The #1 spot of my 'Top 5 Live' goes to Alice Cooper!  I've seen Alice Cooper twice live- once on tour with Motley Crüe, and then this past September of 2016 at the Palace Theater here in Albany.  Basically my sentiments were: Every show that I've seen seems like an opening band compared to Alice Cooper.  The stage production is over-the-top, the music is amazing, the darkness is inspiring, and it's pure true Rock and Roll.

It was a phenomenal year of live music, and I can't wait for all the shows to come in 2017! Check out some photos below from the show!  And to recap my top 5 of 2016:

5) Blink 182 / A Day to Remember / All Time Low

4) Underoath live at the So What Music Fest

3) Shinedown

2) Jane's Addiction

1) Alice Cooper
